    Our commitment to the care, education and safety of your children is reflected in our team. We hire teachers and assistants who are well versed in the best practices of early childhood education. Each member of our team nurtures each child in her care in a safe, supportive learning environment. Team members receive ongoing training to continue their education and are evaluated throughout the year. Our team excels at stimulating children to learn and preparing them for future education.     Angie Bowers, Meet Our Director Mrs. Angie Bowers

    My name is Angie Bowers and I am the Director of Kiddie Academy of Cupertino.

    I was born and raised in South San Jose. At the age of 16 I determined that a child development career is what I wanted to do for the rest of my life. The first position I held was at a preschool in Saratoga, teaching two year olds and learning how to care for small children. Immediately thereafter, I started college course work in the field of Early Childhood Education while accepting a new teaching position with an infant through preschool program. During my time at that program I grew from a two-year-old teacher to the Infant Toddler Director. In 1999, I began caring for school age children! For the next 10 years I built strong relationships with the community and the school district, which included over 300 families. For the last three years I have worked with Infant, Toddler and Preschool families. I have been an Early Childhood Administrator for over 12 years. I have a strong passion for play-based curriculum with a balance of educational enhanced programs.

    I have been a Mentor Director for new supervisors for over 10 years. I sit on the Board of Directors for PAEYC (Peninsula Association for the Education of the Young Children). I am also an active member of NAEYC.

    I feel my goal as a Director is to ensure the interconnection between parents, children and teachers. To make each family feel welcomed when they walk into the school and to ensure that the atmosphere is always warm and caring.

    In addition to my role as Director, I am a wife and a mother of a 2-year-old daughter and 4-year-old son. Both children attend Kiddie Academy of Cupertino.

    Ms. Daisy - Hello my name is Daisy Campos. I am a teacher in the Infant Classroom. I have worked with children for 3 years and volunteered in a school for 4 years. I enjoy working with children very much. I am currently working towards my degree in child development. I have been married for 4 years and have a daughter who attends Kiddie Academy! She is my motivation and one of the main reasons why I decided to stay in the field of Child Development.

    Ms. Gina- I have over 14 years experience working with Infants and Toddlers. I have Bachelor Degree in Secondary Education as well as many Early Childhood Education Units. I have been married for 18 years and am the mother of two children. My daughter is a senior in high school and my son is in the 7th grade. My philosophy is that children need to be given freedom to explore activities and enough time to become engaged with them.

    Ms. Leela- I am honored to be a part of the Kiddie Academy of Cupertino family. I currently hold a California Teaching Credential in Early Childhood Education as well as a Bachelors Degree in Accounting. I have been working in the child care field for a little more than 6 years. I love working with young children. I love watching them grow and learn everyday. I am married and the mother of two lovely daughters. I love to listen to music, read and cook.

    Ms. Veronica- Hi my name is Ms. Veronica. I am a teacher in the Infant and Toddler Classrooms here at Kiddie Academy of Cupertino! I have been working with children for 3 years. I enjoy watching each child grow.Ms. Erin- I have over 12 years of experience working with Infants and Toddlers. I grew up along the coast in Half Moon Bay and studied Early Childhood Education in the East Bay. I love working with children and being a good role model to them. When I am not working with my Toddlers, I enjoy watching movies, listening to Country Music, going to Rodeos and doing some country dancing. I also enjoy spending time with my family and friends.

    Ms. Kara- Hi! My name is Kara and I am the Kindergarten/ School Age teacher here at Kiddie Academy of Cupertino. I grew up in Florida and graduated from Flagler College. I moved to California in 2006 after marrying my wonderful husband. I taught in San Diego as a kindergarten teacher at a great private school for 3 years. My family and I moved to San Jose last September and I was pleased to join the Kiddie Academy staff in February. My daughter also joined the Kiddie Academy family at that same time in the Toddler Classroom!

    Ms. Vani- Hi, I am the Three Year Old Teacher! I started working with children as a Girl Scout leader and Boy Scout volunteer. I loved being with the children and enjoyed teaching them so I stepped in to early childhood education. I worked with children of all ages from infants through school age. I believe in the growth of whole child. I enjoy teaching them on the strength of their interest. I finished my certification in early childhood education from University of Santa Cruz and I have Bachelors in Electronics.

    Ms. Kathy- Hi, I am the Four Year Old Teacher. I recently moved to the San Jose area from Southern California to be closer to my kids. I've been teaching pre-school for 22 years. I currently hold a California Associate Teacher Credential. I enjoy working with children, and hope to do so for many more years to come. I am excited to be part of the Kiddie Academy of Cupertino family.

    Ms. Brenda- Hi my name is Brenda. I have been working in the child development field for over 20 years. I grew up in New Orleans and moved to California 29 years ago. I studied early childhood education here in the south bay. Over the past 20 years I have worked in different settings with children aged infant to college.

    Child's Experience

    • What is the background and training of teachers and staff?
    • What is the teacher to child ratio?
    • Is the educational philosophy one that will fit with your child?
    • Does the curriculum balance education and play appropriately?
    • What is the amount of time spent outdoors?
    • Is a significant amount of the day dedicated to physical fitness?
    • How are nutritious meals and snacks incorporated into your child's everyday routine?

    Equipment and Supplies

    • Has the child/day care center provided state-of-the-art, developmentally appropriate educational tools and aids?
    • Does playground equipment meet federal and safety standards?
    • Have learning aids and furniture been designed for maximum comfort and learning?
    • Are detailed inspections and evaluations of the day care facility performed before any piece of equipment is brought onto the premises?

    Cleanliness

    • Does the daycare center appear exceptionally clean, both inside and outside?
    • Are there established guidelines for sanitizing the diapering stations, bathrooms, kitchens, toys and tables?
    • Is there a janitorial service hired to thoroughly sanitize and cleanse the entire facility on a regular basis?
    • When you walk around the daycare center does it smell fresh and clean?

    Parent Partnership

    • How involved do you feel you will be with your child's experience at the daycare center?
    • What kind of constant communication does the center promise?
    • How open are the teachers and staff about talking with you?
    • Are they willing to share information about your child's activities daily?

    Health and Safety Features

    • Do all entries and exits provide secure/controlled access?
    • Are there established fire alarms/security systems/evacuation procedures posted?
    • Is there stable fencing surrounding the entire facility?
    • Does the daycare center have security cameras and/or webcams?
    • Is there a well-established health and safety program?
    • Is a health check performed every morning by each child's teacher to look for signs and symptoms of illness?
    • Have all staff members and teachers had background checks?

    The following forms will need to be completed before enrolling your child in our academy. Please feel free to print these forms and bring them to the academy when registering your children.

    Enrollments are on a first come first serve basis. Register your child early to secure a spot.
