My husband, Pinakin Patel, and I are co-owners, live locally in Howard County and are grateful for the opportunity to run our own Child Care Learning Center, Kiddie Academy of Elkridge. We are so excited to be a part of a small community at our center. Our children are a part of our everyday lives and we make every effort to make them feel comfortable at Kiddie Academy of Elkridge. Our goal is to make Kiddie Academy of Elkridge a second home for our children, our parents, and our staff. I am the Managing Member of Kiddie Academy of Elkridge, which means I am responsible for the day to day activities of our center. I have a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Bio-Chemistry from USP, and Philadelphia based university, and a Masters of Business Administration (MBA) from University of Baltimore, MD. As the Managing Member, I collaborate with Kiddie Academy corporate and local agencies to identify and meet the childcare needs of families in our community. My daily activities range from, but not limited to, being a teacher, nurse, friend, psychologist, advisor, trainer, business owner, filing specialist, cook, and interpreter at the center. I am a very goal oriented and set very high expectations for myself, my children, and my staff. Pinakin Patel, a veteran Air Force Capitan, holds a Bachelor of Arts in Computer Science from Rutgers University, NJ and a Master of Science (MS) in Management of Information Technology from the University of Virginia, VA. Along with supporting me with the Center, Pinakin currently operates the Intelligence Section of Northrop Grumman's Enterprise Solutions Division with 70 plus personnel that report directly to him. We both enjoy what we do because we know that the trust given to us is not given lightly. Whatever roles we are asked to balance in a particular day are roles that we cherish. Many times the job is not simple and requires long hours, hard work, patience, and the ability to look at a floor requiring mopping and a classroom put out of order with tremendous amount of cleaning up to do and just laugh and get it done. We trust our children, Ryan & Sanya, with the same staff members that we ask you to and are appreciative of the opportunity.
My name is Sharon Klochko and I am the director of Kiddie Academy of Elkridge. Every day I am dedicated to providing the highest quality child care possible and creating a positive learning environment. As the Director, my goal is to encourage learning, work towards accreditation and continue to build strong parent interaction within the classrooms. I decided to join Kiddie Academy because the practice of team work is incredibly stronger than any other educational setting I've been in before. The curriculum is based on multi-intelligence learning, which is learning through experiences. I have found that children learn and retain more knowledge through their experiences. I have been working in the child care industry for over 20 years, working with children of all ages. For half of my career, I worked with two-year-olds, learning as much from them as I hope they did from me. I then began teaching pre-K, helping them prepare for school. My fondest memory with them, which always warms my heart, was watching their eyes light up with excitement when they wrote their name all by themselves. During my free time I run a support group for women, read a vast genre of books and enjoy spending time with my two cats, Teddy and Ben Ben.
