Janel A. Work is first and foremost a mother and loving wife. Janel and her husband Jonathan were married in 2008. Maxwell Thomas Work was then born on 8.3.09; he has enriched their lives and keeps them smiling each day. It was due to his birth that Janel decided to take a hiatus from public education and pursue Early Childhood Education. Then in January of 2011, the family was also blessed with their new arrival of Nathaniel Joseph Work. The family lives in Phoenixville borough with their labradoodle, Riley.Janel graduated from Susquehanna University in 2002 with a B.A. in Communications, Theater Arts and Education. While working in the public school system, she continued her education to complete her M.A. at Villanova in Education. Thanks to her studies and research in creative dramatics in education, Janel presented at the National Middle School Association Conference in 2006.After achieving her degree, Janel has worked as a daycare director and public school educator. She has taught at Owen J. Roberts School District, Reading Area School District, and in Montgomery County School System in Maryland. She was also an adjunct professor at Montgomery College. Not only did she teach, but she helped write standards-based curriculum for the school districts and several virtual charter schools. As an educator, Janel believes in enriching each childs life and meeting their individual needs to help them flourish.Janel A. Work is extremely excited about the new Kiddie Academy in Phoenixville. She believes the center will be redefining the standards for childcare in the area. Plus, it will bring a wonderful resource center to her beloved town. Janel is proud to be joining the Kiddie Academy family!
Heather Laird is so excited to be a part of KiddieAcademy! Heather lives in Pottstown with her husband of 10 ½ years, Paul, and their daughters Galadrielle (Elle) and Arwen. Elle has attended KiddieAcademy since it opened and loves every minute of it. They are our blessings and a true joy to their family.
In 2003, Heather graduated from Valley ForgeChristianCollege with a Bachelors degree in Counseling. During her last year at college and after graduation she worked as a Therapeutic Staff Support for Devereux Community Services with special needs kids. She also worked at Mulberry Childcare and Preschool primarily with the 3 year old class.
After working in the childcare field she got a job working within her Counseling degree for a Counseling firm. After her daughter was born in 2007 she continued to work with children within a local church and soon became a part-time nanny. Heather is also in the process of attaining her CDA from NorthamptonCommunity College.
Heather is very excited to be a part of the KiddieAcademy family. She has been with KiddieAcademy from day one and serves as Education Coordinator as well as Pre-K teacher. She is also thrilled to have both of her daughters at KiddieAcademy. She loves coming in and being a part of a loving, caring, and very positive atmosphere.
