Our commitment to the care, education and safety of your children is reflected in our team. We hire teachers and assistants who are well versed in the best practices of early childhood education. Each member of our team nurtures each child in her care in a safe, supportive learning environment. Team members receive ongoing training to continue their education and are evaluated throughout the year. Our team excels at stimulating children to learn and preparing them for future education. Our team is devoted to making each day fun and educational. Their dedication makes all the difference for your children.
Director
Cathy Abraham brings to Kiddie Academy of Carpentersville 30 years of experience in the early childhood field. She has been a preschool teacher, a director, an early childhood college instructor, a trainer, consultant and pre-k curriculum writer. She has worked with families, and children ages 6 weeks through age 18.
She has her AA specifically in Early Childhood Education, and her Masters in Education.
Cathy is a life-long resident of the area and has a 24 year-old son, and a 2 year-old granddaughter.
Cathy's other professional achievements include over a dozen articles published in professional journals/magazines, presenting at national conferences, and numerous awards for her work on behalf of children. Previously she served as a consultant to Kiddie Academy, reviewing their curriculum.
Owner
Carol Siqueira opened Kiddie Academy of Carpentersville in August 2009 and is on-site every day to welcome new and current families to the facility.
Carol has close to a decade of experience in business, with a concentration in accounting. She attended a local Chicago university and worked for a real estate developer in Chicago for the last several years. Carol switched career paths in order to own her own business and has found child care to be very gratifying.
"I thought working with families that were first-time homebuyers and being able to make their dreams come true by owning their first house was rewarding, but it doesnt compare to Kiddie Academy. To be able to see a child grow and learn is extremely satisfying. I look forward to coming to work every day and seeing not only the children but their families. Kiddie Academy is dedicated to being much more than a typical child care facility; we are a family and a place where learning and fun go hand in hand."
Carol has lived in the area for the last 12 years.
Meet the Staff...
Joining our team is Ms Karen Smith as our Private full-day Kindergarten Teacher! Karen is a certified teacher and previously taught in the Baltimore, MD school system for several years before moving to Kane County. Since moving to the area, Karen has gained additional experience working in a childcare setting... but is thrilled to be going back to teaching in a more structured program.
Our Kindergarten program will follow the ISBE standards. Being full day, there will be additional time for enrichment activities such as art, music, skill reinforcement, outdoor time, etc. Ms Smith is certified in both the state of MD and the state of IL.
